THESE ARE THE RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR
THE COSPLAY CONTEST

For the Cosplay Competition, Contestants
will be given up to 3 minutes which they can use show off their costumes and perform a skit. Remember, this is the cosplay competition, so you will not be judged on your
costume alone, but on the quality of your skit.

After all cosplayers have performed, the judges will take a brief recess to decide on the winners and will then hand out awards for the best cosplays. For the cosplay competition there is only one costume allowed per person.

Each entrant may enter as a single, in a group or both - However you may only enter in one group - so the max amount of times you can be on stage is twice.

Do not enter the same skit twice. If you perform a skit on Friday and wish to enter the Sunday contest, you must have a new "different" cosplay skit.

A group consists of at least 2 people and may have up to 10 members. Entry as a single means just that... 1 person.

In addition, the competition judges reserve the right to present additional awards based on their own discretion for suburb achievement in a specific area or for special recognition

RULES FOR COSPLAYERS

1. All Cosplay skits must be under 3 minutes in length. If your skit runs over 3 minutes, the sound technician may pull the plug on your performance. This is not done to be mean, but the rule is very clear, and you as a cosplayer are being rude to the convention, judges, other contestants and audience if you can't follow the rules.

2. No Nudity or risqué costumes. This is a family show and will contain young contestants. Keep it PG-13

3. All costumes must come from an established cartoon, anime, video game, manga, comic book, movie or jrock/jpop artist.

4. All contestants must fill out the cosplay competition registration form. When you come to the convention, you will need to check in with the Cosplay desk, located right next to the registration desk. You will get all the information you need at the Cosplay desk - including info on where to meet for roll call, which will be 30 minutes prior to the contest.

5. No bad behavior. You know what that means. No trash talking, sabotage or poor sportsmanship. Improper behavior will get you removed from the competition and possibly the convention. Remember, we’re all here to have fun.

6. No harmful or potential harmful materials will be allowed. This includes, but is not limited to: water, cigarettes, flames, fireworks, silly string and any other substance that can be fired, launched or dripped.

7. F.S.C. WEAPONS POLICY: You may pose with your weapon at the cosplay competition. No waving of weapons around so that there can be an accident. It’s never planned for someone to get hurt… that’s why they call them accidents. This is the only time allowed at the show where weapons do not need to be peace bonded. Thru the rest of the show (in other words – every minute of the show other than when you are on stage for the cosplay competition) ALL WEAPONS MUST BE PEACE BONDED. NO EXCEPTIONS! This includes all swords, guns etc….anything that looks like a weapon, is a weapon. In addition no dangerous props are allowed on the convention floor. If it’s a prop that can hurt someone if you accidently touch them with it… it’s not allowed.

8. If participants are seen using a weapon inappropriately (play fighting, waving it around, etc.) they will be automatically disqualified and might potentially be removed from the con.

9. The number of entries will be capped at 35

10. Music CDs are accepted. If your skit includes music be sure to include the track number on your application. MP3s are not allowed. If you need to include pauses in your music they must be prerecorded into the song itself, the DJ doesn’t take special requests for the contest.

11. Microphones will be available to contestants so long as they list it on their application.

What to expect at the contest:

When you first arrive at the show, there will be a cosplay desk located next to the registration area. This is where all questions regarding the completion can be answered and where you will need to sign up and/or check in.

Who can enter?

All attendees who have purchased a ticket for F.S.C. can enter this contest. Participants can enter as individuals or in groups
(up to 10 per group)

How do I sign up for the contest?
